The Education, Tools, Opportunities and Support for YOUR Greater Web Success

Jennie Armato talks about Setting Up a Team of Technical Experts

YouTube Preview Image It’s important to recognize that YOU will make your money being an entrepreneur and a marketer and a visionary … you will NOT make your money learning how to do the technical stuff that’s required to build and run a successful website.  There are definitely advantages to knowing key points – which I will share with you, but it’s essential for your future and your wealth creation that you assemble a team of experts in technical areas related to your business so you can assign them tasks that are (1) probably beyond your capability and (2) probably will make you broke.

SO, if you agree with me about this, here’s an outline of what you need to know and do to move forward in your web business without getting bogged down in technical detail.

Step 1 – Identify the skills you require.  Essentially you’ll need help with graphics and web page coding.  You will usually find that a good graphics and design person is not a good coder and vice versa.  If you do find an all-rounder, they will definitely have a slant or leaning towards one of these two areas, or they may not be expert at either.

My suggestion is that you find two different people, who are specialists and experts in their specific field – either graphic, design and ‘look and feel’ and a PHP or HTML Coder/Programmer.

Having hired over 20 support people in my time, I can assure you that you are better getting specialists than generalists in these areas.

Step 2 – Finding and Hiring

Now that you have identified these two key areas of techno-gabble that you need help with, you need to find them.  If you want to outsource (that means hire someone on a project basis), there are a number of services online where you can list your project and request bids.  Bids come from experts who believe they can do what you ask and they will provide a price and hopefully a history of other work they have performed prior.  These online services act as a broker between you and your expert/s and they charge a small fee for your advertisement/placement of an expert.  Sometimes you can find designers and programmers for a fraction of the price you will pay through normal recruitment channels.

Some of the online services where you can hire experts on a Project basis include (and I’ve used them myself):

The other option is to recruit through normal processes and you will probably need to provide a work station for that person and pay them an hourly rate.  You can also recruit through normal advertising on a project only basis.  Generally, you’ll pay more this way but you will have the person/s working directly for you and probably in your town so you can work with them in person.

Sometimes this is a big help.

There are pros and cons to both ways of assembling your team of experts and you need to find the options that best suit you and your needs.

The KEY to your SUCCESS in Building Wealth on the Web though – is to assemble the team and not do it all yourself – that’s costly and counter-productive … and I’ll see you in 3 years when you’re burned out!

Cheers and happy expert hunting,
